Methods of Acceptable Identity Verification
Acceptable forms of primary and secondary documentary and non-documentary methods of identification are referenced below.
With the use of our thin-client application, you can scan batches of check and remittance items and OCR capture specific scan lines on those items which results in more effective back office and CRM automation.
For example, attached below is a screen shot that demonstrates how a donor’s check and remittance item are couple together and how the scan line data is parsed and posted into the fields associated with that particular donor.
With our integrated RDC partners, we can query the CRM/database for a donor match and then (generally at close of business day) the donor’s record is updated with the contribution data.
Primary Documentary IDs
• U.S. or Foreign Driver’s License, Commercial License, or Learner’s Permit
• Military I.D. Card

• Certificate of Naturalization

• Confirmation from Internal Revenue Service that ITIN has been issued (IRS ITIN Confirmation Letter - Form CP 565 Notice of ITIN Assignment)
• Documents identifying foreign status in the US (e.g., US issued VISA, USCBP Form I-797, USCBP Form I-94, USDOJ Form I-20, DS-2019 Certificate of Eligibility, or Employment Authorization Document I-766)
• Annual or biennial report filed with a state regulating agency
• Assumed Name Certificate, Trade Name Registration, or Fictitious Name Certificate (if business is conducted under an assumed name)
• Business license
• Certificate of Good Standing with State
• Certified or registered Articles of Incorporation or Organization
• IRS Non-profit status letter
• Confirmation from Internal Revenue Service that EIN has been issued
• Third-party prepared financial statements or tax returns

• Verifying references with other financial institutions and/or business partners
• Obtaining a purchased report from a third-party vendor (e.g., Accurint, Credit Bureau, Dun Bradstreet, Dtech/ePort, LexisNexis, Precise ID for Compliance, Data Verify, IDology, Socure KYC)
• Consent Based Social Security Number Verification Service (CBSV)
• Secondary Non-Documentary IDs
• Qualifile Report
• Contact with the customer in their offices, at their home, or place of business
• Contact with the customer via phone or web, where security information is procedurally required and verified
• Checking references with an insurance company (e.g., verifying existence of current homeowners insurance coverage)
